Longest Range Electric Cars 2021: The 300 Electric Miles Club

The All-Electric Tesla Model S Saloon

Overview

Battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), also referred to as pure electric cars or all-electric cars, continue to rapidly capture the imagination of individuals and families across the UK. Theses consumers are seeking a cleaner and more environment-friendly transportation solution. Zero-tailpipe emission electric cars are the perfect solution for today and tomorrow for us all.

The sooner we migrate from polluting internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, to emission-free electric cars, the sooner we can achieve higher air quality, for us all. Next time you come across a pure electric car, like the best-selling Tesla Model 3, look at the rear of the car. Yes, there is no tailpipe, hence, zero-emission!

Electric vehicles (EVs) have come a long way over the past few years. In the recent spate of introductions of new pure electric cars by mainstream and upcoming automotive manufacturers, one theme is dominant. EV battery capacity (size) and the emission-free electric range keeps increasing!

Most new pure electric cars have a WLTP range over 150 miles, and in many cases the EV range is up to 250 electric miles. But there are a few electric cars that have surpassed the 250 miles electric range, and in fact, offer an electric range over 300 miles on a full charge. We call these EVs the ‘300 miles club’. The list below does not include pure electric SUVs and only focuses on electric cars (saloons, hatchbacks, estate body styles). However, for those of you keen to learn about the ‘300 miles pure electric SUV club’, follow this link to learn more.

Range anxiety, is certainly a less prevalent issue today, and the 300 miles EV club demonstrates clearly the significant improvement in EV range. Moreover, it is a widely known fact, in that, the average distance of a trip in the UK is a mere 12 miles. An average vehicle in the UK will travel between 8k and 10k miles per annum i.e. less than 30 miles per day.

For most, family day trips in the UK, we will average 100 miles, and these all-electric cars are perfect for such round trips, to be back home in time to have a nice family dinner and recharge the electric car overnight, using a dedicated home charging station! Even for longer trips, given the fast developing DC rapid charging infrastructure in the UK, these zero-emission green cars are perfect. So bottom-line, most electric cars are well suited for most family requirements.

The list of all-electric cars below, combines with ease, style, performance, driving comfort, practicality, electric range and zero-tailpipe emissions. No wonder, these pure electric cars are fast becoming popular with families of all sizes and needs across the country! Many of these exciting electric vehicles (EVs) are available to lease via e-zoomed at fantastic prices. Simply follow this link to enquire!

The All-Electric BMW i4 Gran Coupe

The BMW i4, is the first all-electric Gran Coupe. The electric vehicle (EV) is based on the iVision Dynamics concept that made its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The i4 is an electrified powertrain of the 4-series and looks similar to the 4-series Gran Coupe.  It is slotted between the BMW i3 hatchback and the BMW i8 sports. The battery-electric vehicle (BEV) is assembled in Munich (Germany) and will be the first all-electric saloon for BMW. The i4 includes the fifth generation BMW eDrive Technology.

The pure electric BMW i4 will include lightweight carbon-fibre construction, which is currently featured in the all-electric BMW i3 and the BMW i8 EV. BMW is deploying a ‘flexible vehicle architecture’ that will be used by both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs). The design has also been inspired by the BMW iNext SUV concept unveiled at the 2018 Frankfurt Motor Show. The BMW i4 electric car is manufactured using ‘sustainable and green energy’. The EV is available for reservation in the UK, with deliveries slated for later in 2021.
