Company Overview: Wallbox


Wallbox, was founded in Barcelona in 2015 by Enric Asuncion and Eduard Casteneda. The company launched its first EV charger in 2016, the Commander electric car charging point. The second product, the Pulsar was also launched the same year. In 2018 the company created a joint venture with a China based company FAWSN Charging Systems Co Ltd and started operating from a manufacturing facility near Shanghai. The 2019 the company expanded its operation to the USA.

The company has won a number of awards for innovation and was the first EV charging manufacturer to launch the first bidirectional charger for home. The Quasar V2G charger was launched in 2020. The charge point manufacturer collaborates with a number of global automotive manufacturers to include, Mercedes-Benz, Kia Motors, Hyundai, SEAT, Ford, Volvo, BMW, Jaguar and more! The company currently offers residential, business and public EV charge points. The company offers the Supernova public EV charger, which charges up to 65kW (60 miles range in 15 minutes).

Ashvin has also worked in the real estate and infrastructure sector, to including working with the Matrix Group (a US$ 4 billion property group in the UK) to launch one of the first few institutional real estate funds for the Indian real estate market. The fund was successfully launched with significant institutional support from the UK/ European markets. He has also advised on water infrastructure, to include advising a Swedish clean technology company in the water sector. He has also been involved with a number of early stage ventures.
