Overview

myenergi, a UK based company is keen to emphasise its country of origin. The fast growing electric car charging stations manufacturer describes itself as ‘British made awesomeness’, with a purpose ‘to provide energy independence and drive a sustainable future’.

The company was co-founded by Jordan Brompton and Lee Sutton in 2016. The company released its first three products in 2017. The company currently operates in a number of international markets. The company is headquartered in the UK. As of 2022, myenergi has shipped over 300,000 devices.

The zappi EV chargers are now in the second-generation (V2). zappi has built a strong reputation for its solar and wind compatible EV chargers, zappi, which are available as both, single-phase and three-phase. Given that most homes in the UK are powered by single-phase power supply, the zappi 7kW EV chargers are most suitable. For homes and businesses that have three-phase power supply, the zappi 22 kW EV charger will be more appropriate.

Though zappi EV chargers are compatible with renewable energy, you do not need wind or solar energy on site to install or use a zappi electric car charger. You can still use the zappi EV charger as a ‘future proof’ strategy, when either wind or solar is installed at the premises.

There are significant advantages to using clean and green energy for EV charging, to include, achieving zero-tailpipe emission electric driving and mitigating against energy price inflation. It also increase the Return On Investment (ROI). Apart from the upfront cost of installing solar panels, the cost of generating green energy is free! For those using the EV charger without solar or wind, the power for charging the electric car will be sourced from the grid, just as you normally do to power your home.

zappi EV chargers are smart EV chargers i.e. it is an intelligent EV charger that can be controlled via the myenergi mobile app to set timers to utilise economy tariffs with the electricity supplier. The EV charger can be controlled remotely via the app from anywhere in the world. The EV charger has three charging modes: ECO, ECO+ and FAST. For those that need to source power from the grid, we at e-zoomed encourage charging overnight, when the electricity prices are cheaper.

For installers and consumers, zappi also offers the advantage of not requiring an earth rod. The zappi EV charger has built-in PEN fault technology, reducing the cost and time for installation. zappi also offers a 5 digit pin code protection to avoid unauthorised changes to the settings or unauthorised used of the EV charger. Other features include: dynamic load balancing and an IP65 rating (weather proof). myenergi offers a 3 year warranty for the EV charger. The zappi tethered EV charger includes a 6.5m tethered EV cable.

The company offers the following renewable energy products, all manufactured in Britain and can be used alongside the zappi EV charger:

  • eddi: solar power diverter
  • harvi: energy harvesting wireless sensor
  • libbi: modular battery storage
