As a first step, we will arrange for your electric vehicle to be inspected by a fully qualified independent engineer to assess accident related damage and agree all relevant repair costs.
If your electric car can be repaired, we will arrange for your plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) or all-electric battery-electric vehicle (BEV), to be repaired at a QDOS Network Repairer.
All our repair centres in our network are either PAS 125 or manufacturer approved. Of course, we can also arrange the repair at your chosen repairer if you prefer.
The choice of where your green car is repaired is yours. It is imperative you remember this. Insurers will try to direct you to their approved repairer who will be contracted to keep repair costs to an absolute minimum. This can lead to poor repairs affecting the future value and performance of your zero tailpipe electric vehicle.
During the course of the repair of your EV, we will arrange an appropriate replacement credit hire electric vehicle for your use. The vehicle can be delivered in as little as four hours and will be similar to your own. The hire cost will be recovered directly from the at fault drivers insurance company.
In the event that the accident is not your fault you will not have to pay your insurance excess as it will be recovered from the at-fault drivers insurance company.
If your electric vehicle is beyond economical repair (an insurance write- off) the engineer will value your vehicle for insurance purposes. The valuation will indicate true market value based on vehicle condition and mileage.
Your hard-earned no-claims bonus will not be affected as you will not be making a claim against your own policy, we will deal directly with the at fault drivers insurance company.
If you have been injured or suffered financial or material loss we will recommend one of our specialist solicitors who, if necessary, can arrange physiotherapy and ongoing rehabilitation. They will also help you claim fair compensation for your suffering and recover uninsured items such as loss of earnings and damaged personal belongings.

Remember, even if you are at fault for the accident you can choose who repairs your electric vehicle. We can arrange repair at a QDOS network, PAS 125 or Manufacturer approved repairer.
